Michael J. Ryan, DPM
Dr. Michael J. Ryan is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons and was recertified in 2004. He is also an active member of North Carolina Foot and Ankle Society,
the American Podiatric Medical Association, the American Diabetes Association, and is a Fellow of
the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Ryan is on staff at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast, performs surgery at Charlotte Surgery Center, as well as Gateway Surgery Center and Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord. Dr. Ryan has been certified in Extra Corporeal Shock Wave Therapy for treatment of heel pain and Endoscopic Plantar Fasciotomy procedure. Dr. Ryan volunteers at the Free Clinic in Concord.
Dr. Ryan originally moved to the Charlotte area in
1989 and started his own practice in the University
area in 1991 and Concord in 1993. His family
includes his wife Steffany and children Jacob, Jillian,
Joseph and Jenna. The oldest was born in 1998 and
the youngest in 2005.
Dr. Ryan spends most of his time with his family but also enjoys golf and sports, especially football.

David J. Garchar, DPM
Dr. David J. Garchar completed his premedical
curriculum at Ohio State University with high
honors. He received a scholarship to attend the
Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine where he
served as both class president and a member of the
honor society. Dr. Garchar was the Valedictorian of
his graduating class and received numerous awards
at graduation. After receiving his doctorate, Dr.
Garchar was selected to enter a three year residency
program in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery
at Northside Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. Dr.
Garchar was named Chief resident in his third year
and focused his training in reconstructive foot an
ankle surgery, sports medicine and diabetic wound
management.
Dr. Garchar is an Associate of the American College
of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, as well as an active
member of the North Carolina Foot and Ankle
Society., the Cabarrus County Medical Society, The
American Diabetes Association and the American
Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Garchar is
certified in foot and ankle arthroscopy. Dr. Garchar
has published numerous newspaper and journal
articles and has lectured across the United States.
Dr. Garchar is on staff with Carolinas Medical
Center-NorthEast and Charlotte Surgery Center.
Dr. Garchar enjoys all sports and outdoor activities,
and spending time with his wife Amber. |

Jeffrey Glaser, DPM
Dr. Jeffrey Glaser completed his undergraduate
premedical studies at John Carroll University in
Cleveland Ohio. He then enrolled and graduated
from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine with
honors. Upon completion of his doctorate, Dr.
Glaser was selected to enter a three year Podiatric
Surgical Residency Program at Forum Healthcare
System in Youngstown, Ohio, concentrating on
foot and ankle surgery, diabetic limb salvage and
sports medicine. During his time as a resident,
he additionally lectured on both the regional and
national level.
Dr. Glaser is board certified in surgery by the
American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He is an
active member of the American Podiatric Medical
Association and the North Carolina Foot and Ankle
Society. Dr. Glaser is on staff at Carolinas Medical
Center-NorthEast and HealthSouth Surgery
center.
Dr. Glaser enjoys cycling, playing tennis and spending time with his wife Annamarie. |

Melissa S. Hill, DPM
Dr. Melissa Hill completed her premedical education
at Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, Florida. She
then attended Barry University School of Graduate
Medical Studies in Miami Shores, Florida. Dr. Hill
graduated from Barry in 2004 with honors. After
receiving her doctorate, Dr. Hill entered a three
year Foot and Ankle Surgery Residency Program
at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in
Hartford, Connecticut. During her third year, Dr.
Hill served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Hill is a member of the American Podiatric
Medical Association and the American College of
Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Hill is new to the Charlotte area and is looking
forward to getting away from the New England
winters. She enjoys watching baseball, New York
Yankees being her favorite team, playing soccer,
softball and spending time with her husband, Evan,
and son, Alexander. |

Scott Whitman, DPM
Dr. Whitman grew up in Long Island, NY and has recently relocated to the Charlotte area via Putman County NY. After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware, he spent a year researching wound healing and growth factors in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This experience inspired him to enroll in The Temple School of Podiatric Medicine to pursue a career in foot and ankle surgery. At Temple, Dr. Whitman was a member of the Pi Delta Honor Society and Sterling Hartford Anatomic Society. After receiving his doctorate, he completed three years of residency training in comprehensive foot and ankle care at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. His training included intensive exposure to Diabetic limb salvage, reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, trauma, and sports medicine. While at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital he was chief resident and was a student of some of the most highly regarded foot and ankle surgeons in the country.
Dr. Whitman is an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is Board Qualified in Foot Surgery.
Dr. Whitman spends most of his free time with his wife Dori and his son Jeremy.
He is an avid skier and enjoys playing golf, though poorly. |
